LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

You will need to fill in and supply to me a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) no more than 18 months and no less than 1 month and 1 day before your ceremony.

The NOIM can be completed electronically and printed or completed manually in block letters with a black pen.

You will also need to show me one of the following:

• some form of photo identification (eg driver’s licence or passport)
• an official birth certificate (or passport if you were born overseas and your birth certificate is unavailable)
• evidence of the termination of any previous marriage or name change if applicable.

Another service I offer to you is to complete the documentation if your require an official government wedding certificate as proof of marriage, I can complete this form and lodge it with your wedding documents, your government wedding certificate will then be sent directly to you from Brisbane’s Birth, Deaths and Marriages, this saves you a lot of time and trouble getting the document witnessed and lodged especially if your require “proof of marriage’ in a hurry for a passport, bank account or private use.

There is a small cost the government charge and can be paid directly to them by cheque or credit card.
